The ONL invites us to a remarkable night : Brahms’s violin concerto and Strauss’s A Hero’s life, performed by the talented German violinist Veronika Eberle, and conducted by the renown Chinese conductor Lio Kuokman.
“I can’t see why I shouldn’t write a symphony about myself !” exclaimed Richard Strauss about his masterpiece “A hero’s life”. The eponymous hero ? Well, himself. Through unrestrained lyricism, this symphony paints the composer’s portrait and makes many references to his first works. In the same epic manner, the night opens with Johannes Brahms’s violin concerto. One of the most difficult compositions by the other German classical master.
Program:
BRAHMS Concerto pour violon
R. STRAUSS Une vie de héros
