Following a disaster, a family of farmers is forced into exile. Inspired by the major 20th century novel dissecting the violence of capitalism, Hugo Roux reinstates redeeming wrath, the liberating one.
When the soil is run-down, people migrate. This epic, experienced by several generations during the Great Depression, foretold a future already lived by a portion of humanity. The direction gives the floor to people who usually don’t have it, those who end up deeply changed by their contribution as a work force to an oppressive system. At a time when the soil is dying, the feeling of injustice and class consciousness sharpens. Rebellious wrath grows.
