Born in Jenlain, Antoine Defoort is a former student of the University of Valenciennes.He experienced his first theatrical shocks at the Espace Pasolini. He creates hybrid shows that are unapologetic mix between disciplines and arts; Cheval (2008), &&&&& & &&& (2009), France Distraction / Les Thermes (2012), Germinal (2012) which toured the whole world, showing how novel French theatre is on an international scale. He created Un faible degré d’originalité (2016)and Elles vivent (2021) at the Phénix. In 2010, together with Halory Goerger and Julien Fournet, they founded the Amicale, a collaborative production platform, a united edgy safe space created to welcome other artists.
